Sociological Research & Analysis

  • Quantitative & Qualitative Research: Proficient in designing and conducting surveys with the purpose of collecting and analyzing sociological data.

  • Digital Demography: Proficiency in digital sociology having pulled data on digital sociological trends for research purposes. Can manipulate and acquire datasets related to any given sociological inquires.

  • Critical Sociological Theory: Strong understanding of classical and contemporary sociological theories applied to digital contexts, such as theories of social media, digital identity, and the digital divide.

Technical & Digital Tools

  • Software: Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and more specialized analytical tools such as R Studio and STATA, both of which have been used for analyzing and visualizing collected data.

  • Coding & Programming: Knowledge of R Studio with some basic knowledge of Python and C++ for data analysis and web scraping, with an ongoing interest in developing further technical skills.

  • Data Visualization: Proficient in using platforms like Excel and STATA to produce visually compelling data representations that communicate insights effectively.

Experience

Applied Digital Sociology Graduate Program

  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods with prior experience in in-person survey data collection during undergrad.

  • Trained in survey construction and design. Capable of forming research questions.

  • Trained in critical analysis of sociological theory, along with coinciding reports on sociological subject matters.

  • Trained in researching social and political matters within a digital space.

  • Experience in Microsoft Suite applications PowerPoint and Word for organizing and presenting data and research points.

  • Experience with data collection/analysis/visualization software STRATA, RStudio, and Excel.

Hotel and Gaming Trades Council Internship (Summer of 2024)

  • Trained in producing short-form biographies on political figures of interest via online research methods including policy examination, tracking of monetary transactions, and journalistic inquires.

  • Collected and organized financial records and contributions provided by union and other union associates on Excel.
